We have been investing in the future of the Farm during autumn 2008 with the aim of providing an improved and safer facility for all our visitors.

This website has been redesigned to provide more information and to be more accessible to potential clients through the booking calendar. We hope that you find these to be the case.

Previous visitors will be aware that we have closed the attic dormitory temporarily; this is part of a commitment to modernising our safety features to a level uncommon in similar hostels. The works include a complete overhaul and installation of fire doors, progressive replacement of furniture and furnishings with approved fireproof products, new fire exits and replacement of the fire escape with an external staircase escape route (this ongoing project is the reason why the attic is shut at the moment). We believe that if we are to accommodate visitors and groups of children the safety features must be of the highest standard, and we hope that you will bear with us until these works are finished. Please remember, as it stands, we can still take up to 18 people, if necessary.

We are investing in safety at Foxwood Farm and we hope that your visit will be safe as well as enjoyable. To that end we urge you to read our premises information pack (available in the building). We would like you to take care of yourselves at Foxwood Farm.

We would also like you also to take care of the hostel by:

  • Making sure that when you leave it is as least as clean as when you arrived
  • Being sensible in the use of gas, water & electricity, and following the waste disposal guidelines
  • Respecting the rule that this is a non-smoking building
  • Reporting any breakages/damage to us (it’s a lot easier than losing your bond and/or being refused a return visit)

We would also like you to care of the neighbourhood and environment by:

  • Keeping noise down and being considerate of the local residents
  • Collecting any litter
  • Keeping to the roads, marked footpaths/rights of way and not walking across agricultural land
  • Never climbing on, trying to cross or removing stones from dry stone walls
  • Not disturbing the wildlife or farm animals.

We urge you to have at least one member of your party familiarise them self with the fire safety information in the Foxwood Farm information pack available at the premises or on demand.

You may be familiar with the Dales; if not it is important to understand that even in fair weather the Dales can be challenging, and if the weather is bad the area can be dangerous. Before you venture into the outdoors be aware of the weather forecast, know your routes, be properly clothed and equipped and be prepared to take local advice.

TAKE CARE
