About Us
The Friends of Foxwood Farm is a registered charity who maintain and develop Foxwood Farm. The aim of the Friends is to offer the opportunity to young people in east Leeds, through local schools and other youth groups, to experience the social and educational benefits of a residential stay in an area which is in contrast to the urban environment in which they live. To fund its work the charity hires the Farm to outside groups throughout the year.
Foxwood Farm was bought in the sixties by the Parent Teacher Association of Foxwood School in Leeds, to be used by the school as a centre for school field trips, study groups and outdoor activities. It is not unusal to meet people locally who are introduced to the area through Foxwood School since literally thousands of young people will have enjoyed memorable experiences in the Dales during their school days. The Farm was modernised in 1988 and was donated to The Friends of Foxwood Farm in 1996 when the school was closed.
